I sit back
Today I am on the other side
Today, I am the audience,
a frame separates me from me,
I am not a beggar, nor a lover, nor a prop on the stage
I am not the light, the playwright, the dramatic delight
I am what today what they call I am- a person
But, I am a Seagull, no, no,
I am an actor
I live in two worlds and yet I live in none
I live on stage, I sleep in my bed, but I dream of one
One reality I have forsaken
Who am I?
A shadow, a caricature of a man, a joker
A king, a jealous enemy, an old woman
Behind the curtains, is not always on the stage
I am somebody in this audience today
Quite, observant, tasteful
I am; therefore, I am not
the idea you have of me
Sit back, enjoy
I will ask the servants to bring
three cups of coffee for yours truly
