One of the winning entries from That's So Scripted, Sabha’s newly initiated creative ten-line play-writing competition.
Love is a bond, quite literally here, but is this bond a bonding or a bondage? /
Open for such bonds, was a man called Crown, with arms open for all, he floated up and down. /
Crown was a socializer, and his charm was infectious, but his existence was incomplete without a partner precious. /
Antithetical to him, was Jewel, who never ran helter-skelter and got her name from her beauty and her shelter. /
A diffident little soul, living in her shell, mingling made her scared, she was too precious to be shared. /
Love was in the air, when Crown landed on Jewel’s home; Crown’s eyes gleamed, Jewel blushed as Crown said, “I have never seen someone as beautiful as you, let’s create a special bond…just me and you”. /
Jewel blushed, too overwhelmed to reply yet too happy to deny; crown got the innuendo as he hugged Jewel with his wide arms, never to let go. /
The bond became complete, Crown felt replete, but Jewel had to face deceit. /
For his own sake, Crown sucked the life out of Jewel; Crown Jewel defence was deployed, and the precious Jewel was destroyed. /
This tragedy’s omen became the unfortunate sneeze, this parasitic love made the world freeze. /
